I can give you a bunch of reasons why I do not really take pictures of people (portrait) at will, reasons why I chose Nature as my Photography niche, at the time those were very valid reasons, but now when I take a sincere look at them I just laugh at how well I “legitimized” my excuses.

“The beauty of nature is underestimated”, “people are never satisfied”, “I just enjoy taking pictures of the trees”, “everyone is into portraits these days”. In those are some elements of truth, but really the main issue here is FEAR. I am scared of not being perfect (check out my previous post on perfection here), I am scared of not being appreciated or noticed, am scared of the critics and it goes on.

Really, Rosemary? Fear? Are you serious? You should know that practice makes perfect, if you do not practice and make mistakes, how will you get better? You should know this, seriously.

Yes, I am aware but you see the issue here is, I just want to wake up perfect without the errors, quite stupid and lazy I know, but it is the truth. Knowing this is not possible I decided to limit myself, not try at all, that way I do not get to make mistakes, but yet I won’t know what I am capable of. Seems to solve the issue in my head.

So today I made a pact with myself, “Start trying, Keep trying till you are better than good enough”. Today I accepted that with learning comes failed attempts, and the ability to accept that without letting it hold you back is Key in life.

That being said can we just take a minute to appreciate this fine looking master piece from God (When your little brother is too peng).
