Christmas eve is finally here, hope you all are excited and having a great holiday. It is day seven of the blogmas (seven days to the new year) and we are going strong! Today’s post is addressing a very common state of mind!.

With me poetry has not been a purpose, but a passion – Edgar Allan Poe

For someone who writes poems, I must say it does get boring and frustrating. You see, I have a lot of poems I find controversial to share because I do not know how people would react. Poetry is the least appreciated art form there is, especially for this age.

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words – Robert Frost

I definitely agree that it is tedious, (sometimes after reading my own work I get confused, yea it is sad), especially with the stereotype that all poetry fall under Oga Shakespeare’s depth “Neither a borrower nor a lender be; For loan oft loses both itself and friend, and borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry”. – Hamlet (Act I, Scene III).” Or King James version of the bible. But that is not the case, currently, poets like J.P Clarke, Tolu Akinyemi etc have made conscious effort to simplify the English.

Poetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance – Carl Sandburg

Don’t get me wrong, poetry can be boring but when you  understand that it only masks the simplicity of things and gives room for multiple translations which in turn adds a certain mystery to the mix, you would get to like it a bit more than you currently do.

I DEFINITELY WANT TO KNOW WHAT YOU THINK OF POETRY?

Stay Shining Lovelies!!
