Meet me
Hi, I’m Rosemary.
Obielumani Rosemary Osuya, if we’re being formal.
I’m a writer, photographer, storyteller, and an endlessly curious person trying to make sense of life as I live it.
The Blackscribbler is where I write through that curiosity.
I write about identity, ambition, creativity, becoming, the strange experience of being a human for the first time and trying to build a life, and the thoughts that tend to sit in your head much longer than you expected them to.
Sometimes it’s an essay. Sometimes it’s a note. Sometimes I’m simply thinking out loud.
About The Blackscribbler
The Blackscribbler began as a place for my words, and somewhere along the way, it became a place for conversations too.
This is not a space where I have everything figured out.
It is a space for asking questions, changing my mind, documenting what I’m learning, telling stories, and hopefully putting words to some of the things you have felt but haven’t quite known how to say.
If something here makes you think, laugh, feel seen, disagree, reconsider, or send it to someone with “this is exactly what I was trying to explain”, then I think the blog is doing what it is supposed to do.
A little more about me
I’m a professional photographer and the founder of Elumani Studios. I make videos, read, talk a lot, ask too many questions, and occasionally convince myself that I need to pursue seventeen different ideas at once.
I care deeply about people, creativity, culture, storytelling and the different ways we make meaning out of our lives.
Mostly, I’m figuring things out as I go.
And writing about it along the way.
Stay awhile
