I have a thing for capturing paths, it gives me a sense of understanding in a subtle but vivid way. Life is all about paths; by choice or circumstances, however, no one has a smooth, straight path that leads to the future.

What we often forget every now and then, is the fact that your path is peculiar to you. We are swayed by the beauty some paths radiate that we force our way through but eventually get stuck.

We need to stop the endless comparison and appreciate your own route. Many envy the duck and how it is able to stay afloat, but few understand what goes on beneath the surface or how cold the water might be; yet you want to be a duck.

Some people have been on their path for years trying to make ways to their destination and today you arise and want to be on the same pedestal as they are, not considering how much walking, crawling and digging they had to do along the way.

Your path might be muddy or plain, wide and free, narrow and crowded, lonely and quiet, noisy and stressful or beautiful and lovely, it doesn’t matter how rosy or thorn infested it may be, you would need to understand and accept it for you to walk that path. This is why we see some people who we classify as having a “silver spoon” still do not go far, and those who didn’t get those privileges make head way. Your path doesn’t define you, it is you who defines your path. Understanding is key.

It is very easy to see the end product and ignore the sweat, time, patience and resources put into it, but you need to understand this; just because it is a path doesn’t make it your way.
