God doesn\’t want something from us, He simply wants us. C.S Lewis

I stumbled on a certain question i found thought provoking lately; \”HOW MUCH OF MYSELF DO I GIVE TO GOD?\”. For some, the answer might be easy or not. It is usually very difficult for us most times to actually surrender all to Him withholding nothing. Though God sees our hearts and yes we sincerely want to give ourselves away so He can use us, we still withhold a lot (the important parts) from Him. Sometimes it seems like we shield ourselves from Him.

God on the other hand has given us full access to Himself (Eph. 2:18) and doesn\’t withhold any part of Himself from us. Though we tend to treat this opportunity/gift like we do our brains (we use only a minute part of our brains even though we have access to the entire brain).

Our not giving ourselves completely to God creates that vacuum that makes us undermine our privileges with God, we see Him as the last resort, our back up plan, we go to Him when things don\’t work our way. Which is not meant to be.

We need to go back to the drawing boards and make continuously conscious effort to give ourselves over solely withholding nothing, because whatever you may be holding onto is definitely not worth the shortchange.

Biblical Ref. 1 Cor. 1:25, Gal 2:20, Colossians 3:1-4, 1 Cor. 6:20, Proverbs 3:6, Rom. 12:1-2.

Stay shining.
