2020 In Retrospect

Happy New Year Guys!!!! We made it to 2021, well done!

Soooooo, 2020! I am literally laughing right now thinking of what to say about last year. I made a blog post sometime in September I believe, about lessons from 2020 so far and while those still stand I would love to talk about my biggest take away from last year.

I walked into 2020 with the keyword GROWTH, and boy did I grow in unexpected ways. I had to do a lot of internal checks and redefinition and it was not fun in those moments, but as time passes I can say I understand and am grateful for the internal growth I experienced last year.

I learned truly and sincerely for the first time in my life that YOU ARE ALONE in life, and I do not mean loneliness, I mean, in all of your endeavours, through the highs and lows, despite the support you might have, you are alone. No one can experience life the way you will, no one can feel the things you do, no one can live life through your lenses.

While this was a shock to my system, it is a shock I am glad I experienced, because it has allowed me to realign how I look at life and the importance I place on certain things.

Another big lesson for me from last year was the understanding of true happiness. Not the fleeting excitement brought forth by external factors but happiness from within even when nothing is working, I mean I guess you can also call it peace of mind. But it was something I never really understood, and now that I have experienced it (even if it was for a short period), I can say I understand the hype around happiness and peace of mind and why it is the ultimate goal in life.

2020 was filled with tragedies, but I hope you have taken the time out to see the light seeping through the cracks it left behind.

I wish you and your family a happy healthy 2021, filled with strength and Grace.

Have a splendid week ahead.

You are Loved.

Stay Shining.

  1. 2020 taught me that it really doesn’t matter much what’s happening in your environment. The most important thing is what is happening on the inside of you. Beyond outward optimism and positive energy, the internal process(growth that no one sees) needs to take its cause for any meaningful worthwhile manifestations on the outside to take place.

It was a year of reflection and gratitude for me. Thanks, Blacksribbler for always coming through for us
