5 WAYS TO SHOW UP FOR YOURSELF TODAY

Hi there beautiful human, how are you doing? I am so glad you made it here.

So! How can one really show up for themselves? In my previous blog post on showing up for yourself, I talked about what it meant to show up for yourself. Now you know what let’s discuss the how.

Here are five ways you can show up for yourself –

  1. What do I want to feel today? – Making a conscious effort to ask yourself what feelings you want to embody through the day is a crucial part of showing up for yourself. When I write my to-do list daily I always include a ‘today I want to feel’ section, which is arguably more important than the tasks you have ahead of the day. This allows you to stay in a certain mindset despite the outcome of the day.

    ASK YOURSELF WHAT YOU WANT TO FEEL EVERYDAY THIS WEEK AND SEE HOW THAT GOES.

  2. What can I do today to make tomorrow easier? – What you do today will either make your tomorrow easier or more stressful. So what can you do today that your future self will thank you for? Stop leaving everything till tomorrow, take meaning full steps today that will contribute to the future you desire.

    IF IT CAN BE DONE TODAY, DO NOT MAKE TOMORROW DO IT

  3. What does my body need today? – I know you have a ton of things to get done and life keeps moving, however, it is imperative you listen to your body? It is always talking and screaming, it shows you signs of what it needs and it is when you do not listen it parks up. So listen to your body, do you need more rest? More water? More Veggies? Exercise? Remember that your body is very important because without it you can’t function or exist

    LISTEN TO YOUR BODY, DO NOT WAIT FOR IT TO BREAKDOWN BEFORE YOU TAKE THE TIME OFF

  4. Keep Going – We hear this a lot and sometimes we undermine the truth behind this phrase, keep going, everything eventually comes together, the lessons learned, the time spent, the experiences gained, it will all pay off eventually. The goal is life is not perfection but consistency. Little drops of water make a mighty ocean, you might not see it now but it eventually counts for something.

    ONE STEP A DAY IS STILL A STEP FORWARD, PROGRESS DOESN\’T HAVE A SCALE OF MEASUREMENT

  5. Ask for help when you need it – No man is an island, I am aware of how difficult it is to ask for help because you feel you might be a burden or you think it shows weakness. I understand, however that is not the case, asking for help is a great show of strength because you are aware that you need help and you are putting pride aside and seeking it. Do not go through life struggling when there are people around who are willing to help you out. Do yourself a favour, save yourself the time, stress and sleepless nights and talk to someone today.

ASKING FOR HELP SHOWS ENORMOUS STRENGTH AND SELF AWARENESS

Show up for yourself today and make the best of this day. It is not too late to start showing up for yourself.

You are amazing and strong and smart and you can do absolutely anything you set your mind to.

  1. Very practical.. Love it.. But the "what do I want to feel" aspect is a little difficult for me because a person can just throw my feelings off balance just with a few words.. But am still in the process of working on it.. Thanks
