WHAT DOES SHOWING UP FOR YOURSELF MEAN?

Hi guys, it\’s been a hot minute! How has everyone been doing?  With life slowly coming back to normal (As normal as can be), I realised that a lot of people might not quite know how to get back into the swing of things, some people (myself included) might be feeling out of sorts and not sure how or where to pick back up. Or feel as though there is no point to anything anymore. So I thought I would share a recent journal entry of mine that has kept me going lately.

My journal entry

“You need to put yourself first, I know we say that all the time. But really your thoughts should not be

\”what will people say?\” It should be \”how do I feel about this?\”

Your opinion of yourself should come first above any other. You should be your scale of measurement.

I know you do not know what tomorrow brings and your back hurts from all you have saddled on you.

Decisions and actions that are scary. But this is what I think, show up.

Show up confused, Show up uncertain, show up sad and broken, show up wounded and dirty. Just show

up. Stop waiting to have it all sorted and ready and fixed and clean, just show up the clumsy mess

that you are and drop the excesses as you progress.

I know you overthink, your mind won’t stop working and walking, I get it, but show up nonetheless.

Try it out, give it a try and start there. Continue from where you stopped.

The thing you need to realise is the world will receive you as you are.

it will watch you grow and grow with you.

Baby, you are gold, unrefined and dirty, and I know the fire scares you,

but remember it is not to burn you but to strengthen and beautify you.

It takes time and practice.

Just show up.

Because when it comes down to it, you are all that you have.”

No amount of preparation will be enough if you do not show up for yourself, no amount of affirmations will change anything if you do not take a step. Even if the world fails you, the systems fail you, your parents fail you, the one person who you can’t afford to let fail you is YOU.

DO NOT FAIL YOURSELF, SHOW UP, TURN UP AND SHOW OUT. YOU’VE GOT THIS.

STAY SHINING

YOU ARE LOVED

  1. I’m showing up to be the first to write a comment on this lovely encouraging piece. It doesn’t always have to be all figured out.

    Ps. Thanks for showing up.
