WHEN THE FEAR OF FAILURE TRAMPLES THE NEED TO SUCCEED

“A fear of weakness only strengthens weakness.” ― Criss Jami, Salomé: In Every Inch In Every Mile

I AM SCARED! I AM SCARED!! I AM SCARED!!! Maybe shouting at the top of my lungs would help? or not. So I hide in closets, or plain sight, I shut down the thoughts of \”possibility\” and close the doors on \”potentials\”, I refuse to give \”progress\” a second thought because comfort has eaten deep into me, but really because I am scared of failure.

I am genuinely scared of failing, scared of the shame it would bring, scared of mockery that accompanies it,  so I stay put, shy away, and make “I can\’t” my anthem. People say fear of failure should be the motivation to succeed, but how can that be when the fear paralyzes me, when it breaks me and holds me hostage; its ransom being success?

Atychiphobia ; the abnormal, unwarranted and persistent fear of failure, fear of not being enough.

So scared I no longer live, basically existing to pass time.

Fear is a choice, a state of mind, a figment of the imagination. Fear is subjective to your creativity. Fear is a mirage. For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control ( 2 Timothy 1:7).

You have tried fear and seen the depth of its claws in draining you of life, let\’s try confidence! Failure or success, it is your badge to wear, so do it with pride, after each fall, raise again with fortitude, learn your lessons, try again and again till you get it right. Make it a \”happily on going\” story.

The battle over fear isn\’t won in a day, it is a continuously rigorous affair that takes patience, strength and will power. Eventually, you will have a firm grasp on controlling the reins of fear and you will raise above, stepping out of the shadows. You Will Win!!

What are you scared of?

How have you been able to deal with fear?
