For a long time i never actually Worshipped God. I only basked in the \”act\” of worship, especially in church or in gatherings. Not entirely because i wanted to put up a show of \”spirituality\” but also because i lacked understanding of what worship was all about.
I so easily got carried away by the music leaving behind the song.
I still do not fully understand the intricacies of worship but i know God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth (John 4:24). It goes beyond the expressions we can possibly exude.
There is no measurement of how well you worship God, so stop trying to make it a show, worshipping is not an outward affair. You need to lean inward and feel the words (and or instruments) not get carried away by it.
\”Worship changes the worshipper into the image of one worshipped\” Jack Hayford.
You shouldn\’t hold back, it is an intimate interaction beyond human comprehension that means you do not need to look over your shoulder or watch others or be a spectator. it is a moment of truth; an expression of reverence and adoration.
Today i understand Worship is about stepping into a ship (atmosphere) that is equipped with weapons and designed to take part in warfare. It is definitely not a matter of joke or to be taken lightly.
\”Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks\” John 4:23
\”The whole person, with all his senses, with both mind and body, needs to be
involved in genuine worship.\” Jerry Kerns
