\”You are beautiful\”, that sentence has lost as much value as the Naira. The words Pretty and beautiful have become so interchangeably used that their meanings have formed a bond. While pretty simply emphasizes attractiveness without truly being beautiful. Beauty on the other hand emphasizes very high standard and can be likened to a thing of art (aesthetic).

Everyone today says those three words, to make people feel good or to express how good looking they might be. However, in my opinion beauty is a reflection of substance. Most girls today tend to live based on the approval of other people\’s \”you are beautiful\”. You in all sincerity are not beautiful until you truly know it.

Looking beyond the make up and nice clothes or how well toned or curved you are, looking beyond your stretch marks and how unpleasant you may think your body stature is, looking at yourself with your minds eyes; Are you beautiful?. Except you answer that question from within, what others say will always remain a compliment or an insult, basically their opinion and might never sit as the truth.

You are beautiful! Not because I said so or \”He\” said so or \”they\” said so or \”we\” said so. You are beautiful because you know it! not because your pictures look bomb or you have so many likes on the gram. You my lovely are beautiful because above all things you were fearfully and wonderfully made. Your beauty can not be captured by the pixels or \”how well the sun hits that highlight\”
