The danger of fractured morals,
To be on the edge of right and wrong,
Backs turned on “righteous” upbringing,
Hearts craving the safety of mama’s words,
Who to obey?
How easy it must be to let go and let in,
Or the difficulty of a heavy conscience,
The skin is mine to flaunt,
Open for all to look,
The choice is yours to see.
Oh, ye high judges,
Filling my air with hisses of crude words,
Her insides must be black you say,
My back has heard your disdain,
And I await the day you meet up with courage, to face your words to my sight.
Maybe, just maybe, my excesses are a form of compensation for thought inadequacies.
A craving to get the devotion I desire,
Maybe, just maybe,
There really is no reason besides my understanding,
Based on, my lifestyle of upbringing,
Though human nature to judge by the cover,
Give me a chance,
Speak to my reasoning with love and understanding,
Forgo your high horses,
Look to me as human and not project,
And maybe, just maybe, you will understand the lyrics of my book.
QUESTION OF THE DAY: WHY DO WE FIND IT SO EASY TO JUDGE AND CONDEMN OTHERS?
John 7:24 ESV \”Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.
Ephesians 4:29 ESV \”Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.
